Australian quilter, Rachaeldaisy Dodd has become synonymous with bold, colourful, eye popping quilts, and it’s no wonder after 20 years of being a florist experimenting and mastering colour and form.
Whilst honouring the tradition of quilting Rachaeldaisy strives to find fresh ways and new techniques to interpret conventional designs. Her use of 3D elements such as folded and gathered fabric techniques, Yo-Yo puffs, Prairie Points, wool felt, appliqued and pieced denim and Ric-Rac create beautifully unique textured work. In her workshops she encourages creativity by teaching techniques and patterns that give room for participants personalities to shine through their projects.
Rachaeldaisy's fresh interpretation of the art of quilting has seen her quilts awarded many prizes including several Best In Show awards, Best Use Of Colour, Most Innovative, and several Viewers Choice prizes. Rachaeldaisy’s quilts have been exhibited in quilt shows and galleries, and featured in publications both nationally and internationally.
Her popular book "Whizz Bang! Adventures in Folded Fabric" published with Quiltmania, covers all the techniques needed to create her award winning folded fabric quilts and has inspired quilters around the world.
